Classic TVB drama The Hippocratic Crush II On Call 36小時II, which premiered in 2013, has been rerunning in a late-night slot recently. Aside from popular female artistes like Tracy Chu 朱千雪, Eliza Sam 岑麗香, and Grace Wong 王君馨, the drama also starred Elkie Chong 莊錠欣, who played Lawrence Ng 吳啟華's daughter and left a deep impression on viewers at the time. Her character, Yannis, suffered from heart disease and had a stubborn and capricious personality. Elkie, who was only 15 years old, acted her part naturally and Kenneth Ma 馬國明 praised her for being a hardworking good girl.

Having developed a good relationship with fellow cast members, Elkie met up with Tracy this January, who played her father's love interest in the drama. Their relationship became more like sisters and Tracy could not help but praise the budding star on Instagram: "Now she is older, pursuing her dreams but still humble, kind and talented. So proud of you!"

The now 21-year-old Elkie looks all grown up compared to when she played Yannis, and her career has changed a lot as well. She debuted as a member of the girl group CLC in 2016 and has successfully transformed from TVB child star to popular K-pop idol.

In addition to her singing career, Elkie also starred in K-drama The Rich Son 부잣집 아들, becoming the first Hong Konger to play a significant role in a Korean drama. Her current success comes from her love of the stage. Elkie has said that the biggest reason for becoming an artiste is the feeling she gets from being on stage. She believes that once she has decided to do something, she must make the necessary preparations to follow through, and to not waste any hard to come by opportunity.
