Louisa Mak 麥明詩 decided to shift focus away from the entertainment industry near the end of last year, with the currently-airing drama Death by Zero 殺手 being her last drama for the time being. In the drama, she plays a blind person and netizens praised that her acting has improved. Even Christine Ng 伍詠薇, who had been following the series, posted on Facebook, writing that Louisa's performance was an unexpected surprise and that she did very well.

In episode 20, which aired last Friday, Louisa's character found herself in a dangerous situation when she got on the villain's bad side. To save her, Louisa's father, played by Wayne Lai 黎耀祥, scolded her and slapped her over 10 times. Louisa was able to express the pain her character was feeling in this scene and handled her emotions well.

On the same day, Louisa shared some highlights from filming this scene on Instagram, asking, "Is there anyone else who wants to hit me really hard?" She revealed in an interview that the scene had to be shot from several angles and thus required multiple takes, each take consisting of about 8 to 10 slaps. Louisa expressed that she trusted Wayne, however, because he was experienced and knew how to adjust his strength. Although it was painful and her face became a little swollen after filming the scene, Louisa said that, as an actor, she did not mind the pain, as long as the scene was well-acted and realistic.
