Since Tracy Chu 朱千雪 finished filming Legal Mavericks 踩過界, she has been taking a break from acting and returned to school for her law degree. Surprising viewers, she made a cameo appearance in an episode of The Exorcist's 2nd Meter 降魔的2.0 this week as a ghost-like passenger Kenneth Ma 馬國明's character picked up in his taxi.
In the episode, Kenneth even ironically asked Tracy if she understood the law when she threatened to report him to the police. Many fans also noticed a familiar transmission tower in the backdrop as Kenneth drove Tracy in his taxi, much like the one featured in Over Run Over EU超時任務 that had time travel abilities. Producer Dave Fong 方駿釗 admitted that it was a callback to the iconic tower, hoping the audience would make the connection and think of TVB as one big universe!
Dave revealed that he had wanted to work with Tracy for a long time, but never got the chance. Coincidentally, when they were shooting The Exorcist's 2nd Meter, he thought she would be very suitable for one of the scenes and Tracy happened to be free at the time, so they quickly made the deal after discussing with her manager.
This was not the first Easter egg netizens spotted in The Exorcist's 2nd Meter's first week of broadcasting. In an earlier episode, Jimmy Au 歐瑞偉 and Kim Li 李偉健 portrayed maintenance workers sent to clean the hospital's water tank, but sharp-eyed viewers noticed that their personalities carried over from the roles they play in the popular sitcom Come Home Love: Lo and Behold 愛·回家之開心速遞!
